Healthy Weight Loss Post-Menopause

Women, after they pass middle age, begin experiencing varying levels of stress- physical and emotional, exhaustion, hormonal upheavals, health problems, etc.

These signs simply signify that stage in a woman’s life known as menopause- turbulent for some and smooth for a very few. For those who experience an extreme level of change, gynecologists, physicians or dietitians prescribe various medicines, diets and fitness regimes to help cope.

Exercise helps a lot for women who are experiencing menopause but special care is required where healthy weight loss is concerned. The body should not be denied of its nutrition and neither should it be exerted more than necessary when a menopausal woman is carrying out a healthy weight loss diet or having weight loss personal training.

Towards this end, a research group helmed by Dr Alexandra Sänger of the University of Salzburg has discovered a new approach to healthy weight loss and exercise.

They configured two special weight loss training methods for menopausal women- hypertrophy resistance training and the SuperSlow® resistance training. While the first method is formulated to coerce muscle growth and improve it, the latter involves a slower set of exercises with fewer repetitions. This is believed to improve the quality of muscle contraction.

At Body Makeovers, we take studies like this into consideration as they help us provide clients who come to us for a body makeover in Los Angeles a more personalized experience. Women can even exploit the Mommy Makeover package for marvelous external improvement.
