All Eyes On The 50-year-old ‘Fitness Goddess’: Madonna

Louise Ciccone aka Madonna has been a driving force in everything from fashion and music to philanthropy and fitness ever since she hopped on the glamour bandwagon. Her 50th birthday seemed like a melting pot for all of her various endeavors- right from rumors about another adoption to her unusual dress and her gym visit the day after her all night birthday party.

For a little girl who grew up in a small town in Michigan, Madonna always knew what she wanted and did all she could to get it too.

I must admit her almost maniacal attitude towards exercise and fitness has inspired me to stick to my own healthy weight loss regime, which is not as taxing on the body. The main reason being, Madonna in her aspirations to stay fit and young goes to go to extreme lengths to stay sizzling hot.

Till date, she has followed weight loss personal training methods like cycling, running, ashtanga yoga, gyrotonic and even vitamin injections (I may have left out even more). And all this is just part of her fitness resume, her beauty regimen list runs longer!

While it is fine to be rigorously disciplined where exercise is concerned, you need to remember that not everybody’s metabolism and physical makeup can withstand workouts like these. Work with a personal trainer in Los Angeles who will analyze you to suggest weight loss training plans that work best for your body.

Head over to Body Makeovers for a quick consultation and you could have a better time than Madonna in maintaining your weight and figure.

Ear Infections, Terrorism & Obesity

These three terms have to be the most unlikely combination of maladies that can be put together in a single sentence, but yet they do have a connection- one provided by obesity itself.

Let us begin with ear infections.

U.S. scientists found a link between children who contract an affliction called recurrent otitis media and taste affecting nerves that are damaged in similar infections. Something as minor as infected tonsils could also affect the weight gain problems faced by certain people.

An advanced form of the infection mentioned above, otitis externa is already known to affect tendencies towards obesity due to its origin, which is in type II diabetes. So if you are a candidate for some weight loss training or a regime for a personalized diet in Los Angeles, it would do you good to inform your personal trainer is you are suffering from any of these conditions.

Across the Atlantic, health experts in Britain are warning the populace that the growing levels of obesity are akin to the threat posed to the nation by terrorism. While it is a bold statement to make, the NHS is worried that by 2025, the rate of people suffering from type II diabetes is going to double up.

Something to definitely worry about and make you gather up your exercise and weight loss personal training gear and head to Body Makeovers for some quick fitness checkups and your very own custom weight loss personal training regime.

Little Things That help You Workout (and function) Better

The new Speedo LZR swimsuit, trees, the Eiffel Tower, the airways in the human body and a host of other objects around us are proponents of the constructal theory. Wrapping this theory in spare words- all these objects are designed, constructed or formed in a manner as to encourage flow.

Engineering professors Adrian Bejan and Sylvie Lorente are of the opinion that ‘flow systems evolve to balance and minimize imperfections, reduce friction and resistance, while losing the least amount of useful energy in the process.’

Utilizing this unique flow system while performing your various healthy weight loss workouts not only can preserve energy, but it can also leave you less stressed during and after exercise. Even better, this optimization of energy is a subconscious trait in animals.

To get the most for your workouts from any personal trainer in Los Angles, you need to look out for a trainer who knows how to hone your inherent ‘flow’.

In any advanced athletic makeover system or weight loss training program like the ones at Body Makeovers, we pay attention to newer ways in which you can lose weight comfortably. In keeping up with the studies related to the dynamics of the human body, we devise workouts and weight loss personal training sessions that make your skeletal, muscular and ligamentous systems work in accord with each other.

To know more about how we adapt advanced weight loss personal training programs into our various personal training plans, visit us at Santa Monica Body Makeovers.

Healthy Weight Loss – Olympic Style

At least 1 billion people all over the world watched the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games- me being one of them.

But the spectacle that was the opening games was just a prelude to the actual events that are unfolding as the games progress. From fake pyrotechnics to cheating allegations, the Beijing 2008 Olympics are turning out to be quite a controversial affair.

For me, the Olympic Games have always been the prefect chance to get motivated to stay fit and keep my body healthy. From the parade of all the participants and their walk around the arena, to the announcement of the winners for each game, the magic of the games contest with the urge within me to maintain at least a semblance of health.

There are a total of 28 summer sports that participants are going to compete in for this year’s Games and already the records being set are nothing short of splendid.

It takes a lot for the participants to stay fit and maintain their health. While weight loss training is not really an issue for most of these men and women, the personal training they undergo in order to stay fit and healthy is rigorous.

Body Makeovers provides a weight loss personal training program called Athletic Makeover for those individuals looking to lose and maintain weight in a more focused manner. The Athletic Makeover is tougher than the other programs we have at California Body Makeovers and demands almost the same performance endurance levels as the Olympics.

Visit Body Makeovers to know more about this result-oriented program.

The More Your Tots Grow, The Less Exercise They Get – New Study

Wonderful, just what parents need. As if the child and adolescent obesity problem wasn’t enough!

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 15-year-olds got less than a third of the recommended level of exercise for their age. On the other hand, 90 percent of the children aged 9 and 11 met the recommended levels of exercise for their age.

This is serious reason to be alarmed parents, especially because once children slip into adolescence, they are less impressionable where instilling healthy weight habits are concerned. Considering that puberty is the main time for bones and muscles to achieve a solid growth, maintaining a healthy diet and exercise pattern for your child becomes even more imperative.

The federal issued Dietary Guidelines for Americans considers it essential that children and adolescents spend at least 60 minutes of physical activity for seven days a week. While this is no doubt going to help them establish a healthy weight loss and weight control pattern in their later years, it will surely help their developing bodies.

Do not ignore the rising threat of obesity parents, look for healthy weight loss diet and weight loss personal training options like the ones offered by Body Makeovers through the Children’s Program.

Losing Fat Via Mesotherapy – Viable or Not?

A rather large number of treatments revolve around the hapless individual looking for a healthy weight loss alternative, and mesotherapy is just one of them.

Touted as a probable alternative to surgery procedures like liposuction or gastric bypass surgery, mesotherapy is something of a boon for many people. This has largely to do with the treatment process, which consists of a series of sittings (depending on the amount of weight you carry) wherein a medicated solution is introduced into the mesoderm via an injection.

Since it does not involve any weight loss personal training (exerting for the lazy) or surgery (for the weak of heart), mesotherapy seems to be an attractive weight loss and body makeover combination. Its body sculpting functions also make it very hard to resist for fat-watchers.

However, what is important to remember is that a body makeover in Los Angeles is more advantageous then something like this as unlike mesotherapy it does not make use of any drugs that are not FDA approved. While the latter attaches a certain amount of risk, the costs involved (approx. $1,000 to $1,500 per treatment) and the period it takes to realize the effects also need to be considered.

Instead, the Six Week Body Makeover program or the Los Angeles Extreme Makeover offered at Body Makeovers can prove to be a better investment for you. Not only are the packages customized for you but you can also lose weight the healthy way.

Healthy Weight Loss Industry Feeling The Pinch Of The Economy

Americans spend $40 billion a year on weight loss programs and products alone.

The U.S. economy is not looking all that happy currently and it is only natural to wonder what the attraction about weight loss products and services is all about. The diet and fitness sector is experiencing the same treatment from wary spenders as are the plastic surgery and lifestyle markets.

According to the International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association, gym memberships fell for the first time in more than a decade last year from 42.7 million in 2006 to 41.5 million.

But despite all this, people are up for grabs for any weight loss training or diet program and once plugged, avidly lap it all up. If you are wondering why there is so much importance given to such regimes, a good reason could be because women want to fit into size-8 jeans and men want to hook the girl.

However, such arguments are, at best, clichéd.

In my opinion, healthy weight loss diets and weight loss training programs like the ones offered at Body Makeovers, offer users a comfort level of another kind. Individuals know that there is a trusted dynamic overlooking the entire weight loss process- be it a personal trainer or a nutritionist.

See for yourself the edge you can get by our Six Week Body Makeover or Extreme Makeover without worrying about your budget.

Hazards Of Having An Inexperienced Weight Loss Personal Trainer

One of my favorite fitness sites, FitSugar spoke about yoga trainers who harmed more then healed their pupils thanks to their inexperience. The mess they got their patients into had me wincing in pain just reading about it!

It is absolutely terrible if the person you trust to help you lose weight is not up to the mark. If a personal trainer fails in some way or another just because he or she has not received enough training or doesn’t possess proper certification, then you have barked up the wrong tree.

There are ways to avoid this though and checking up on the certification and reputation is one of the best ways you can ensure yourself a healthy weight loss experience.

At Body Makeovers, we make personal trainer assessment processes mandatory for selected trainers so that our weight loss personal training clients are not harmed in any way.

Certain body makeover programs are extreme and demand a lot from the user. Unless the trainer is confident and certified to provide the exceptional guidance required for such clients, he or she cannot help the client in any way.

Along with the mandatory 2-4 year experience in personal training and a degree or certification from an accredited institution, Santa Monica body makeover requires trainers to undergo a rigorous training class. Only after they successfully complete an internship under a high-level personal trainer in Los Angeles at our facility, are they considered ready to help a California body makeover client.

You are in safe hands. Book an appointment with Body Makeovers today.

Watching What You Eat & When You Eat It

The big word on everyone’s tongues in the U.S. is salmonella, with the dreaded infection poisoning above 350 people in 30 U.S. states in one month alone.

While excluding tomatoes from your healthy weight loss diet could be a good idea, scientists are reporting that cilantro and jalapenos, besides other veggies too might be at risk for consumption. Incidentally, these are the ingredients used to make salsa as well, making it tough for those who love Mexican food.

Summertime, apparently, is a very tricky part of the year where food is concerned with dietitians advising people to practice proper hygiene while cooking and cooking food to right temperatures.

If you want to cultivate healthy weight loss diet habits, then eating food the right way is also important. With just a little organization and self-control, you can keep a few pounds away. The Washington University School of Medicine discovered that people tend to overeat during the weekend, more so on a Saturday.

According to the conclusions drawn, people gain at least 10 pounds by the end of the year, thanks to weekend binging!

What do you think? Do you practice unhealthy eating habits and love weekend binging?

Drop by at Body Makeovers to understand how the food you eat affects your body size and healthy weight loss efforts. Through our Nutrition Only program, you could have the opportunity to improve your situation.

Healthy Weight Loss Post-Menopause

Women, after they pass middle age, begin experiencing varying levels of stress- physical and emotional, exhaustion, hormonal upheavals, health problems, etc.

These signs simply signify that stage in a woman’s life known as menopause- turbulent for some and smooth for a very few. For those who experience an extreme level of change, gynecologists, physicians or dietitians prescribe various medicines, diets and fitness regimes to help cope.

Exercise helps a lot for women who are experiencing menopause but special care is required where healthy weight loss is concerned. The body should not be denied of its nutrition and neither should it be exerted more than necessary when a menopausal woman is carrying out a healthy weight loss diet or having weight loss personal training.

Towards this end, a research group helmed by Dr Alexandra Sänger of the University of Salzburg has discovered a new approach to healthy weight loss and exercise.

They configured two special weight loss training methods for menopausal women- hypertrophy resistance training and the SuperSlow® resistance training. While the first method is formulated to coerce muscle growth and improve it, the latter involves a slower set of exercises with fewer repetitions. This is believed to improve the quality of muscle contraction.

At Body Makeovers, we take studies like this into consideration as they help us provide clients who come to us for a body makeover in Los Angeles a more personalized experience. Women can even exploit the Mommy Makeover package for marvelous external improvement.
